About Spare
Spare is a nonprofit technology project based in New Haven, Connecticut. We help community members give directly and transparently by funding specific wishlist items for unhoused neighbors.
The name comes from “spare some change” — that everyday impulse to help someone nearby — updated for how giving actually works today: specific items, not cash in a cup, with clear follow-through.
When you can see a real person and a concrete need, giving feels meaningful — and when you know what happened next, trust grows.
